To support your research and stay connected, we provide a selection of essential IT equipment for loan during your visit. Please contact the IT staff to borrow any of the following items:
Available Equipment
Power and Charging
Chargers: We have a range of laptop chargers, including MagSafe, USB-C, and various barrel connectors, to keep your devices powered throughout the day.
Power Adaptors: For international visitors, we offer a variety of power adaptors, including EU to UK and universal plugs, so you can easily use your own equipment with our power outlets by using authorised and tested equipment.
Connectivity and Displays
Data Adaptors: If you need to connect your laptop to a different device or display, we have a selection of data adaptors available, such as USB-C to USB-A and USB-C to HDMI.
Peripherals: Each office is already equipped with a keyboard and mouse which you're welcome to use during your stay. If you do not have one, please contact the IT Team.
What We Don't Provide
Laptops and Other Devices: We are unable to provide personal laptops, tablets, or other computing devices for the duration of your stay. We kindly ask that you bring your own. However, for presentations in our seminar rooms, a dedicated laptop is available and pre-configured for your convenience.
Software Licenses: Please note that we do not provide licenses for specialised software. We recommend you bring your own licensed software or arrange for any necessary institutional access prior to your visit.
Ethernet Network Connection: We do not provide hard-wired/ethernet network connections in our offices or common areas. All internet access is provided via Wi-Fi.
Loan Process
To request equipment, simply visit the admin suite (or reception) or create a ticket. We will note your name and office number. All equipment is tracked via a central assets system, so please ensure you return all equipment to the IT Team before your departure from the Institute.
